Vassallo Group’s academic arm has established itself as an integral niche within the company, and today is an accredited centre, offering City & Guilds courses in Malta.

We believe in offering all our students the essential insight into the workings of the real world, encouraging them to ‘learn through life experiences’, and subsequently achieving an all-rounded education.  For this reason, Vassallo Group has invested substantially in this sector with the inauguration of its own Training and Development Centre at the Landmark Business Centre in Qormi.

All courses organised by CareMalta are at this Centre, including internationally recognised City & Guilds courses in health and elderly care, which also fall under the CareMalta curriculum.

City & Guilds

City & Guilds Malta has been offering courses to individuals interested in exploring career choices within the care industry since 2009. Born out of a shortage of people working in the industry locally, the Group felt the need to out reach out to the community and extend its training facilities to the public.

The course includes a practice placement within one of the company’s care homes. During this time, successful candidates will be awarded a City & Guilds certificate equivalent to Level 2 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework of the UK (QFC) and to Level 3 of the European and Maltese Qualifications Framework (EQF & MQF) for each course.

Successful candidates may also be offered the opportunity of being employed as ‘Trainee Care Assistants’ for the duration of the course. Upon successful completion of the Specialist Diploma Course, selected candidates may also be offered a definite work contract by Care Malta.

All employment conditions include a City & Guilds qualification allowance in each payroll.

Courses available:

  • City & Guilds Diploma in Healthcare
  • City & Guilds  Specialist Diploma in Healthcare

All applicants should be in a possession of a School Leaving Certificate, and admission to the course is subject to an interview. Lectures are held at CareMalta’s Training & Development Centre, at The Landmark Business Centre in Qormi.
