Throughout these pages, we pay tribute to the individuals who have served as the Group’s “guardians of a legacy”, upholding the values that have guided us since the very beginning.
This year marks a milestone of profound significance for us, as we launched one of our most ambitious projects: the Mediterranean College of Sport (MCS), which proudly welcomed its first student-athletes; bridging academic and athletic excellence.
In exclusive interviews, we engage with the Group Chairperson and CEO, gaining insights into the strategic vision that has guided the Vassallo Group through dynamic landscapes.
The year 2022 was also marked by the shift of the Covid-19 pandemic to an epidemic as the world started returning to normality after two years of turmoil created by the virus
One such initiative was ZVART (Żaren Vassallo Art Initiative), the brainchild of Group chairman Nazzareno Vassallo who wanted to mark 2021 with a contribution towards the arts by each company within the Group.
This year’s edition of Arkati features interviews with both the chairman and CEO to shed light on the strategy and outlook of Vassallo Group for 2019 and the years to come.
In this issue, we feature the Group’s contribution to Mosta, which hosts our Head Office, as well as other group properties, including Casa Arkati and Casa Apap Bologna.
CareMalta celebrated its silver anniversary with a number of events, which culminated in an extremely proud moment for chairman Nazzareno Vassallo when he presented Pope Francis with a special memento, featuring the fingerprints of all the residents from CareMalta’s nine homes, to mark the occasion.
This edition reflects the Group’s proud history, steadfast values and drive to move forward. Indeed, 2017 has been a highly successful year. As our CEO, Pio vassallo, explains in his statement, Vassallo Group’s performance has been nothing short of exceptional.
This edition of the Arkati magazine includes a full interview with Group Chairman, Nazzareno Vassallo in which he looks at the Group’s past as well as the present and future encapsulated in the tagline chosen for this year: Tradition, Innovation and Diversity.
One of the most important events during this year was the Opening of CareMalta’s 9th home, Casa San Paolo situated in the hub of Bugibba. Vassallo Builders also completed other major projects, such as the Oncology Hospital, the LifeSciences and the North Waste Treatment Plant.
Following a thriving year, we celebrated our rising stars in the Shine Awards event, where employees took home their Shine Award in a number of categories, claiming the title of ‘Best Supervisor’ and ‘Best Project’ in addition to several other sought-after titles.
The aim of this annual publication is to bring you the latest developments within the group with a sneak peek behind the scenes of the daily tasks carried out by our workforce in their respective companies.
A lot of development has taken place within our Group since Arkati was last issued in August 2011. Various companies within the Group have either completed or embarked on exciting new projects some of them of national importance.
Today, while construction is still a huge part of what we do, the Group can pride itself on being one of the most diversified in Malta, and very much in line with local economic trends and opportunities.
