Vassallo Group has kept a long-standing tradition of marking International Women’s Day with  a luxurious lunch for which over 100 women – directors, managers and employees from across the group – are  invited. This year the event was held on the 8th of March at the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry.

Mr Nazzareno Vassallo stated that 60% of the workforce are women and that over 33% of the Group’s directors are women too. He said that women are now involved in all levels within the group management structures including shareholders and directors, managers, assistant managers and supervisors. He also spoke about the group’s intention to keep improving the family friendly measures already offered by the group to enable more employees, particularly women, to balance their family life with their career within the group.

MEP Miriam Dalli was invited as special guest on this occasion. On this occasion sociologist  Dr Maria Brown delivered a keynote speech on the theme #PressForProgress – this year’s slogan for International Women’s Day.

All women were presented with a special gift as a token of appreciation.  The luncheon was prepared by CaterEssence, a leading Catering company which forms part of the group.
