HILA

Marking this year’s 70th anniversary, HILA (Home to Independence and Limitless Abilities), a new subdivision of CareMalta, will open its doors and welcome residents into its first home, at Casa Apap Bologna in Mosta.

This achievement represents the embodiment of our Chairman, Mr Nazzareno Vassallo’s wish to address the several requests he had received from relatives of persons with disability along the years. This decision coincided with the Government’s vision to make a concrete difference in these persons’ lives.

Casa Apap Bologna is a stately townhouse, located in the heart of Mosta. The house enjoys state-of-the-art design, and has been completely renovated to meet the needs of persons who will be residing there. All works have been carried out in line with HILA’s vision to offer a homely stay and sense of well being to all residents, whether on a short-term, or long-term basis.

Over the past two years, HILA has engaged in extensive research in order to lay the foundations and explore the various service offerings possibilities. Amongst other things, HILA has set up a Consultative Committee that is made up of persons with disabilities, as well as their relatives, in order to assist the organisation move forward in the right direction.

HILA believes in offering a wide range of services to persons with disability that include respite and residential services, as well as employment opportunities amongst others. Through its offerings, the organisation strives towards achieving its mission of ‘empowering persons through choice and developing individual abilities towards an inclusive and fulfilling life’.
