“Learning never exhausts the mind.” – Leonardo Da Vinci
Perhaps one of the most significant rites of passage in our lives is getting an education. But why is it so important? For starters, you’ll receive a certificate that not only proves your achievement, but also opens doors to new opportunities. This, in turn, allows you to land the job you’ve aspired to get.
City & Guilds merges an extensive history of dedication to skills development with investment in technology and an emphasis on helping centres make the most of the success of their learners resourcefully.
An impressive history
With more than 130 years of experience in vocational education, having been created in response to the needs of businesses to develop a pipeline of well-trained talent, it’s really no wonder City & Guilds has built a successful name internationally.
By constantly building on that heritage to create vocational services that continue to cater to the fluctuating needs of businesses worldwide, courses offered are ones that benefit both the student and company. Working with over 10,000 centres globally, with almost 2 million individuals trusting City & Guilds with their futures each year.
Generating employable learners
Recognised by 99% of employers, the City & Guilds brand offers a range of qualifications built around employer needs so learners are in a good position to find a job. Owing to their extensive portfolio, City & Guilds boast of more qualifications and services to choose from than any other Awarding Body. Over 500 qualifications across 28 industries to be precise.
Vassallo Group’s academic branch has established itself as a fundamental role within the company, and today is an accredited centre, offering City & Guilds courses in Malta. Designed for steady progression to take your learners to the highest levels in their chosen careers.
Offering all our students the indispensable understanding and awareness into the workings of the real world, encouraging them to ‘learn through life experiences’ is important to us. This subsequently allows our pupils to achieve an all-rounded education. This is why, Vassallo Group has greatly invested in this segment thanks to its own Training and Development Centre at the Landmark Business Centre in Qormi.
The local background
City & Guilds Malta has been offering courses to people interested in exploring career choices within the care industry since 2009. Since there was a shortage of people working in the industry locally, the Group felt the need to extend to the community and provide its training services to the public.
We understand that students learn better by doing, which is why the course includes a practice placement within one of the company’s care homes. During this time, successful candidates will be awarded a City & Guilds certificate equivalent to Level 2 of the Qualifications and Credit Framework of the UK (QFC) and to Level 3 of the European and Maltese Qualifications Framework (EQF & MQF) for each course.
All courses organised by CareMalta are at this Centre, including internationally recognised City & Guilds courses in health and elderly care, which also fall under the CareMalta curriculum.
